Magic Academy's Genius Blinker - Chapter 44
Chapter 44
Gourmet Club (3)
I asked as calmly as possible.
“Are you saying you can create a special external activity club?”
“Yeah. I can do that.”
As he confidently smiled, I scrutinized him.
Ma Yuseong’s connections. And the forces hidden within Stella.
‘Well, with connections like Ma Yuseong’s, it’s possible.’
T hi s w a s c o p i e d fr o m k i ng m t l .or g
Though those connections are unsettling, they’re certainly useful in times like this.
I slowly considered the benefits I’d gain if Ma Yuseong created the club.
Free external activities, guaranteed insurance (?), cheese cutlets for lunch, and no unnecessary restrictions.
Also, having Ma Yuseong close by to observe wasn’t a bad idea.
However, there was a worrisome aspect.
Ma Yuseong and I had hardly any interactions. Sure, I acted like a genius with my game knowledge, but would he really create a club for me just for that?
He must have ulterior motives. Especially since Ma Yuseong was the closest to darkness, I had to be cautious.
“Everything sounds good, but how will you benefit from creating a club for me?”
“I have my reasons. You’re special.”
“…What nonsense is that?”
Suddenly, I met Ma Yuseong’s eyes. In his already dark pupils… it felt like something even darker was wriggling.
“You… No, never mind.”

I almost spoke but then shut my mouth.
One fundamental issue with Ma Yuseong is his severe loneliness.
Recalling that, I had no choice but to nod.
“Alright. Create the club.”
When I finally gave a positive answer, Ma Yuseong’s face lit up.
“So, we’ll be doing club activities together?”
“Yes. And include her too.”
I pointed at Aiselle, who widened her eyes in surprise.
“Me…?”
“You’re practically a homeless person with nowhere to go.”
“Well, that’s true, but…”
Ma Yuseong is unstable right now. He’s like a glass cannon, breaking or darkening at the slightest provocation.
If he had a trait, it would be ‘Glass Mentality.’
Someone had to be there to care for Ma Yuseong.
Flame was out of the question. She was always busy with Hae Wonryang.
So, I had to leave it to Aiselle, the protagonist of the original romance novel.
Given that Ma Yuseong and Aiselle had an intense romantic relationship in the original, being together in a club might help them bond.
“If a beauty like Lady Aiselle joins, I’d welcome it too.”
“Stop calling me ‘Lady,’ it’s annoying.”
…It seemed like a long and rough road ahead, but it should be fine.

Ma Yuseong offered to make me the club president, so I filled out the application form.

During S-class break time.
I sat Aiselle and Ma Yuseong down and showed them the application form.
[Club Creation Application]
[Club Name: Social Club]
[President: Baek Yu-seol]
[Members: Ma Yuseong, Aiselle]
[Purpose: Social Gathering]
Bang! Aiselle slammed the table.
“…Is this what you call a club application?”
“Why are you so angry…”
“Which club writes ‘social gathering’ as their purpose? The club name is too haphazard. This won’t get approved, and even if it does, we won’t be able to go out.”
She erased the application with an eraser.
“Your goal in creating the club is external activities, right? It’s impossible for a student to create a club with the purpose of hunting and other special external activities. You must join a club assigned by the school.”
“I didn’t know that.”
“But there’s a loophole. While doing external activities for other purposes, ‘special external activities’ can be added with the approval of an advising professor.”
T h i s w a s c o p ie d f r o m k i n g m t l. o r g
“Oh… I see.”
T hi s w a s co p i e d f r om k i n g mt l .or g
I had no idea. In the game, I could just slap any name on it.
Back then, my club name was ‘Baek Yu-seol’s Flaming Soccer Kick.’ Reality required more thought.
“Most unofficial clubs have real purposes. External volunteer work, medical support, etc., which also get funding while allowing for special external activities.”
But that would mean doing those activities even while hunting. Volunteering? No way.
Th i s w a s co pi e d f r om k in gm t l . o r g
“So think of an external activity purpose that the professor would agree to, one that wouldn’t bother you and might get you some funding.”
“Hmm…”
There is one thing. Something I wanted to do since first stepping into Aether World.
“…How about a ‘Gourmet Club?'”
A club to explore gourmet restaurants.
T h i s w as c o p i e d fr om ki n g m t l . o r g
“What?”
“A club to visit gourmet spots.”
She seemed about to question it but paused.
This world has many gourmet spots. Aether World, more so than Earth, had many skilled people, making gourmet spots more prominent. Even in the story, the obsession with food was so high that the percentage of spirits who died from not eating was the highest.
I hadn’t had good food in a while either, and Aiselle probably hadn’t either.
Stella’s cafeteria food was good, but it was still cafeteria food. Aiselle, being broke, often ate bread instead of proper meals.
“…A Gourmet Club. There are many similar clubs. The question is, can we get the ‘special external activity’ stamp for this purpose?”
No matter how much permission we got to go out, it would be useless without official approval for special external activities, like hunting.
Aiselle and I subtly looked at Ma Yuseong.
He smiled brightly like a savior.
“It’s possible.”
“R-really?”
“Yeah. A gourmet club sounds more fun than I expected. It gives us a purpose to do activities together.”
“I guess…?”
Aiselle seemed to doubt if it was something to be so excited about.
“With that, we can also get a lot of funding. Let’s do the Gourmet Club.”
Ma Yuseong readily agreed.

Now, two issues remained.
“To get the special activity stamp, we need an advising professor and at least four members.”
Aiselle and I avoided making eye contact.
We both had no friends.
Again, Ma Yuseong came to the rescue.
“I’ll take care of this part.”
“Oh…”
“Awesome.”
Would he bring another friend? Ma Yuseong seemed like a social butterfly, so he probably had many friends.
“But… I might struggle to find an advising professor.”
“Why? You can get special external approval.”
“It’s just… they’re all trash.”
T h i s w a s c o p i e d f r o m k i n gm t l . o r g
“R-really?”
He laughed, but it felt unsettling, so I hurriedly nodded.
With the club creation somewhat sorted, Aiselle stood up.
“I’ll get going first. My next class is at the Seventeenth Star Tower.”
At her words, I glanced outside. Stella Academy, with its massive structure and interconnected towers, required careful planning to navigate.
Aiselle seemed to be a prime example.
The Seventeenth Star Tower was far from the Third Main Tower, where the S-class classroom was. It was barely visible from here.
To get there, she’d have to cross multiple small warp holes and moving bridges…
She must have failed to schedule her classes properly and had to change them, resulting in this.
“Well… good exercise. Good luck.”
“…I know I messed up. Don’t mock me.”
After saying that, Aiselle left the classroom, and Ma Yuseong stood up.
“I’ll get the stamp for the application.”
Watching Ma Yuseong leave, I wondered.
‘Isn’t the special purpose stamp not something just anyone can give?’
But I didn’t think deeply about it.
‘It must be one of those people.’
* * *
Ma Yuseong carried the club application form to the Vice Principal’s Office on the 79th floor of the First Main Tower.
A World Mage of the 8th class and Vice Principal of Stella Academy, Aki Haydn.
Upon hearing about Ma Yuseong’s visit, the great mage hurried out to greet him.
“Oh, welcome, Young Master.”
“Yeah. It’s been a while, Grandpa.”
“Hohoho. It’s good to see you growing up well. Are you doing fine at Stella?”
“There are many interesting friends here, so I’m managing.”
When Ma Yuseong smiled, Aki Haydn slightly frowned.
‘What is this psycho thinking now…’
Forcing a smile, he asked,
Th i s wa s c op i e d f ro m ki n g m t l. o r g
“So, what brings you here?”
“A club application. I need the stamp.”
“This is…”
Aki Haydn adjusted his glasses and looked at the club application with a puzzled expression. For Ma Yuseong to create a club? Anyone who knew him would be shocked.
“Hmm, a club application. I need to check if it meets the conditions…”
No matter what, it had to meet the minimum requirements. Aki Haydn reached for the application, but Ma Yuseong covered it with his hand.
Raising his head slowly, Ma Yuseong’s smile cast a dark shadow. A very dark one.
“No need to see the details. Just stamp it.”
Aki Haydn felt a deep, chaotic aura from his eyes and instinctively withdrew his hand.
He shouldn’t resist. The boy before him was the heir of ‘that man,’ after all.
Sweating, he reached under his desk for the stamp.
“…Alright.”
When Aki Haydn stamped it, Ma Yuseong quickly took it back.
“Thanks. I’ll be going now.”
Saying that, Ma Yuseong left the office.
Click! Even after the door closed, Aki Haydn stood there for a while before collapsing into his chair, sighing deeply.
“So arrogant, despite being half-baked…”
Just like his father.
But that won’t last long.
The moment he got the chance, he’d chop that arrogant neck off in one go.
