Magic Academy's Genius Blinker - Chapter 52
Chapter 52
Academic Presentation (3)
Two prepared blackboards were of different sizes. At Maizen’s request, one blackboard was enormous, while Alterisha’s was only about a quarter of its size.
Moreover, Maizen was receiving assistance from four doctors, whereas Baek Yu-seol stood slightly apart, doing nothing.
“Quite interesting. It’s getting exciting! Is there any beer?”
“Hwarseok Koden, please maintain decorum.”
“Enough, let’s get started!”
With Hwarseok Koden’s shout, Alterisha and Maizen each picked up their magic pens. Alterisha’s magic pen was a multicolored one, an idea Baek Yu-seol had subtly suggested with his knowledge of the future.
“Hmm? What’s that pen?”
“A magic pen with colors? And it can change colors with a button?”
“That could be quite profitable.”
While a few businessmen’s eyes sparkled, the alchemists held their breaths, focusing on the two solving the challenges.
The moment this intense duel began, a man sitting in the far corner of the audience instinctively pulled out a cigarette from his pocket.

A woman sitting next to him slapped his hand away.
“Kaen Squad Leader. This is a non-smoking area!”
“…Right.”
“Ugh, you’re impossible.”
Kaen put the cigarette back in his pocket and concentrated on the presentation. Although his mission wasn’t to attend presentations, this duel was so fascinating that he forgot his original task.
‘Seriously… is this fun?’
Watching the squad leader, Hyeijin shook her head.
Hyeijin Macaron, the vice-squad leader of the 13th Extermination Squad of the Tower of the Full Moon.
She was an elite among the elite of the world’s top magic warrior organization, authorized to judge even the Mage Council at the pinnacle of this world’s mages and operating in the shadows of society.
Next to her sat Kaen, her superior, who had hunted over a hundred Dark Mages with a risk level of 6 or higher.
This time, they were dispatched to search for a Dark Mage hiding in society. Unfortunately, the location happened to be this utterly boring alchemy presentation.
‘So tedious!’
Her knowledge of alchemy was limited to the basics she had learned back in magic school.
She glanced at Professor Maizen Tiren. Their surveillance target this time was unusually unique – a professor at the elite magic warrior training institution, Stella Academy.
Th i s w a s c o pie d f ro m k i n g m tl. o r g
‘Is this even possible?’
Stella Academy was Stella Academy, a perfect space explained by its name alone. The idea that a professor from there might be undergoing ‘Dark Mage Erosion’ was absurd.
Anyhow, the squad leader blindly trusted everything the Tower of the Full Moon’s master said. No matter how she thought about it, this mission was a dud.
“Hmm?”
Meanwhile, something… something changed in the atmosphere of the hall.
The alchemists, who had been holding their breaths watching the solutions, began to stir.
“That looks…”
T h i s was c o p i e d f r om ki n g m t l. or g
“Similar, but interpreted from a slightly different perspective.”
“But-”
An alchemist started to voice an opinion but hesitated. Perhaps everyone felt the same.
Because.
‘The assistant’s solution is simpler and clearer than Professor Maizen’s?’
Moreover, there were slight differences in the final answers.
Th i s w a s c o p i e d f r o m k i n g m t l . o r g
Eventually, they moved on to the second problem. By this time, several alchemists were slightly agitated.
“That’s…”
“I’ve seen various solutions to the second challenge, but…”
“This is the first time for this…”
They weren’t talking to Professor Maizen. Her solution was no different from those they had seen before for other challenges.
However, Alterisha’s solution was entirely different.
It was as if she was viewing it from another dimension.
The second challenge, which required the combination of magic circles with the material itself, known to need at least 200 lines to organize the combination of four-dimensional crystalline substances without any rules, was solved by Alterisha in just 19 lines.
“Huh. I’m a magitech engineer, not an alchemist, but even I can understand her solution.”
The scholars realized why Alterisha had started with a small blackboard.
She was confident she could fit the solutions to all five challenges on that small blackboard.
As they moved to the third challenge, the atmosphere began to tilt. Though Professor Maizen Tiren’s solution was undoubtedly impressive, considering no one in history had ever solved the third challenge.
Yes, impressive. Professor Maizen was undoubtedly impressive, but…
“…Assistant Alterisha is more impressive.”
Someone blurted out their inner thoughts. No one rebuked him since they were all thinking the same.
Professor Maizen looked flustered, sweating bullets.
‘This can’t be happening…’
Th is was cop i ed f r o m k in gmtl . o rg
Solutions she had never seen or thought of before. Alterisha’s formula, similar yet slightly different from hers.
The stark difference was obvious.
Baek Yu-seol had passed down formulas from a very distant future to Alterisha.
In that far-off future, Alterisha had modified the Random Aeration Cross Formula to her liking.
In other words, Alterisha was using a nearly ‘complete solution,’ which Maizen had developed and Alterisha had refined.
How could an incomplete paper compare to that?
At last, they reached the fourth problem, but Professor Maizen could no longer write.
She ran out of space on her blackboard, despite it being four times larger than Alterisha’s.
While she requested an additional blackboard, Alterisha continued to write effortlessly on her small one.
Around that time, the alchemists started to realize something and either stood up, shouting, or covered their mouths.
“I see…! Now I understand why Professor Maizen couldn’t complete the formula!”
Hwarseok Koden also realized something and laughed heartily.
Until now, the senior alchemists had thought of the ‘five challenges’ as separate issues. This included Professor Maizen Tiren.
However, Alterisha’s solution was different.
She was integrating all five challenges into one cohesive solution.
Th i s w a s c op i e d f rom k i n g m t l .o r g
Some brilliant alchemist geniuses could even predict the solution to the fifth challenge.
T hi s was c op i e d f r o m ki n g m t l . org
And as predicted.
Alterisha successfully integrated all five challenges into one cohesive solution.
“How can she establish multidimensional thermodynamics based on the Ergeste theorem and achieve Chronical reflection…?”
“With that, she could prove the 3.8-fold hypothesis of initial mana rotation rate.”
Thud. When Alterisha finished all the solutions and lightly tapped the blackboard with her magic pen before turning around.
Some alchemists screamed, some ran outside, and some collapsed to the ground.
Being at the starting point of a discovery that would rewrite history felt like an honor.
“Aaaah!”
“This is insane! This is truly insane!”
Even Hwarseok Koden didn’t try to calm the chaos. In fact, he was equally flabbergasted, so who was he to control the situation?
“Ugh…”
No one looked at Maizen anymore. It was as if she was shrouded in darkness.
The additional blackboard she requested hadn’t arrived. The apprentice sent to fetch it had been so absorbed in Alterisha’s solution that he had forgotten.
Crunch, crunch!
Veins bulged on Professor Maizen’s forehead, arms, temples, and cheeks.
‘I can’t accept this.’
Those fools are deceived. Can’t they see? The formula is similar. That solution is just like mine. It must be. She copied my formula.
‘Why don’t they understand?’
How could a woman in her twenties solve all those challenges on her own? Even I, with the support of dozens of doctors, could barely solve four.
With bloodshot eyes, she stared at Alterisha.
“Al… terisha…”
“…Professor?”
The aura of malice made Alterisha instinctively step back. Baek Yu-seol discreetly gripped his wand and stepped in front of her.
Th is w a s c o pi ed f r om k i n g mt l . o r g
“How long… How long will you keep… making me suffer…? Stealing my paper… modifying it… masquerading it as your own… do you enjoy that?”
“Hey! Guards! Restrain her!”
Professor Maizen’s condition was abnormal. The alchemists stood up, and the host quickly directed the situation. The magic warriors on guard promptly moved.
But before Baek Yu-seol, the guards, or even Hwarseok Koden could act.
Alterisha shouted first.
“Stop it, just admit it!!”
For the first time, Professor Maizen responded normally. She twisted her neck grotesquely and spoke.
“What… did you say?”
Her expression was bizarre and terrifying, but Alterisha had no intention of stopping.
“My paper… is clearly better than yours! Was stealing my Red Potion paper not enough? How much more of my work do you need to steal to be satisfied?!”
The alchemists murmured.
“What?”
“That Red Potion paper was the assistant’s work?”
“Hmm, something did seem off…”
A whirlwind of thoughts ran through Alterisha’s mind.
They were bitter memories with Professor Maizen.
‘Stupid girl. Is that all you can do?’
‘I’m sorry.’
‘I told you to prepare properly! How many times do I have to tell you!’
‘But I did it the way you wanted…’
‘You should understand even if I say it wrong! You’ve worked under me for years, and you still can’t do that?!’
‘I’m sorry! Please don’t kick me out!’
‘Listen. Without me, you can’t even step foot in this academia. Got it? So, do it right!’
She had been deceived, robbed, bullied, and endured the pain. She wanted to cry but had to hold back.
All those times made her feel bitter.
“Professor is…”
And all at once, she exploded.
“Professor is stupider than me!!”
Gasp.
That timid yet gut-punching statement left all the alchemists gaping in shock.
“Gasp…!”
“Uh, um…”
Even Professor Maizen froze with wide eyes.

“Hahaha!”
Hwarseok Koden burst into laughter.
“This presentation is truly entertaining!”
Perhaps thanks to his laughter, Professor Maizen finally snapped out of it.
But… better if she hadn’t.
Regaining her senses, she quickly realized her situation.
‘What have I done…?’
She looked around.
Colleagues, connections, those who had worked together, and those she respected.
They all looked at her with disgust and pity.
“No, no! Look! This woman stole my paper! Why, why can’t you see it?!”
No one responded. Perhaps because she had half lost her mind, but also because a professor who tried to plagiarize her assistant’s paper twice had no worth anymore.
“Take her away.”
“No… Noooo!!”
With Hwarseok Koden’s cold command, two guards escorted Maizen out, ending the commotion.
T h i s w a s co pi e d f r o m ki n g mtl . o r g
Thud.
“Ahhh…”
Perhaps due to all the tension leaving her body, Alterisha collapsed to the floor. Several well-dressed bodyguards and officials rushed to her aid.
“Are you alright, Alchemist Alterisha? Here’s water and a towel.”
“Would you like some medicine?”
“I run a university hospital nearby. Shall we check you up?”
“Haha…”
Only then did Alterisha realize the gravity of her actions.
Step
She looked up at Baek Yu-seol approaching her. He was smiling, as always, but somehow, today’s smile seemed unforgettable.
“Assistant, you did well today.”
When Baek Yu-seol reached out his hand, Alterisha smiled brightly and took it.
“Yeah!”
